How to find Incremental Update Collections

How to find Incremental Update Collections from all collection in SCCM 2012. Today i am sharing a SQL query which is useful to find out all the available collections those are enabled for Incremental Update or Both Incremental and full update.

SQL Query

Select S.Name, S.Comment, CASE S.RefreshType
WHEN 4 THEN 'Incremental Update ONLY'
WHEN 6 THEN 'Incremental AND Full Evaluation'
Else 'Unknown'
End AS RefreshType
From V_Collection as S
Where RefreshType = '4' or RefreshType = '6'

Do not use incremental updates for a large number of collections

When you enable the Use incremental updates for this collection option, this configuration might cause evaluation delays when you enable it for many collections. The threshold is about 200 collections in your hierarchy. The exact number depends on the following factors:

  • The total number of collections
  • The frequency of new resources being added and changed in the hierarchy
  • The number of clients in your hierarchy
  • The complexity of collection membership rules in your hierarchy
